Hello GIVING WoMN Members and Friends. Here are few Fall 2016 Updates!
The newsletter has many details about reports back from former grant recipients, news around town regarding some of our former grant recipients, upcoming calendar items and more. Please check it out for more details, but in the meantime, here are a few highlights:
Grants Process: Thank you to the 29 members who submitted nominations for qualified 501(c)(3) organizations serving our community from members this spring! The Grants Team has started their preliminary work and have requested Letters of Inquiry and hope to have those received by next week. The first Grants Team meeting is on 9/8 and the fun work to understand these organizations and their projects proposed to us begins then. As a reminder all members are welcome to join the Grants Team but it is important to be able to make most of the meetings. If you are interested, please contact Ruth Bowman at .
Fall Education Event on September 27: The year following receipt of a grant from GIVING WoMN, organizations agree to report back to our members about the work we funded. At our Fall Education Event on Tuesday 9/27/2016, two of our February 2015 grant recipients, Genesys Works and Store to Door, will be presenting. An invitation was sent to members on 9/1/2016 for this event. There is also information and the link to RSVP in our last newsletter. Questions? Email us at .
GIVING WoMN Eye Opener on Saturday November 5: We are very excited about how the event is taking shape! It will again be a morning event held at The Minikahda Club with a tasty breakfast and beautiful venue. This year, we have chosen the important topic of “America’s Addiction to Opioids: What can be done?” and the committee is busy finalizing a great panel of notable experts. We look forward to providing an eye-opening experience for members and guests. Please invite friends and mark your calendar!
